Several Large Sections in Agricultural Planting
Date:2018-06-05 16:13:26 Writer:1. Choose locally adapted varieties.
2. Plant at the right time of year.
3. Soil tillage is important in preparing the proper soil.
4. Plant properly. Sow seed at the proper depth and space. If you’re planting transplants, take care not to set them too deeply or the stems may rot – use your trowel to dig a hole just deep enough so that the top of the root ball is level with the surface of the ground. I like planting because once it starts growing, you get all excited because all your hard work is sprouting.
5. Watering is one of the most important parts of farming. We always water the plant after planting the seeds to “tell” the plants it is time to grow. After a few days, you see a little sprout come out. To make sure the plant has enough water, we set up irrigation lines. If the plants don’t have enough water, they will grow slower, and the quality of the production won’t be as good as the ones that do have enough water. Also, plants can die from lack of water. We don’t water the beds when it is hot because it would dry up quickly. Morning and evening are the best times for watering plants.
6. Fertilize. Especially for vegetables growing, fertilize regularly. Maintaining vigorous growth is very important with almost all vegetables. Most should be fed with a nitrogen fertilizer at least every 4 to 6 weeks. However, be careful not to over-fertilize, which can cause some vegetables, especially tomatoes, to produce less.
7. Control insect pests. Many insects enjoy crops. Always keep an eye open for insect damage, and protect your plants with a solution, such as pesticide sprayer.
8. Eliminate weeds. Weeds compete with crops for water, nutrients and sunlight, thus reducing yields. Pull weeds by hand and cultivate the soil frequently to keep them to a minimum.
9. Harvest crops. Especially beans, squash, peppers and cucumbers will stop producing if not harvested frequently. Pick every few days.
10. Thresh your crops. We usually use a thresher to do this. Now we have some multifunctional crops threshers which can thresh your various crops, such as wheat, paddy, millet, sorghum, beans, corn, etc., low cost and labour saving.
